Dr. Katie Bell

Seaside Home Veterinary Care was founded by Dr. Katie Bell, who grew up envisioning Veterinary Medicine resembling something along the lines of what is portrayed in the old James Herriot classics: All Creatures Great and Small.  She has always been crazy for kitties and puppies, and any wildlife creatures she saw on the side of the road for that matter...and wanted to be a veterinarian ever since her first Veterinarian Barbie when she was a small girl.  She figured out pretty quickly that working just like James Herriot did, going house to house to visit her patients, was exactly how she liked to do it.  There were countless situations where either the client, the patient, or both, could benefit so very much from being seen in their own home!  

Formerly Katie Killen, Dr. Bell was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick and is very proud to call this foggy city "home".  She graduated from the Bachelor of Science program at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, NS in 2008, and went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown, PEI in 2012.  Dr. Bell feels strongly that the inherent innocence of animals makes them very special, and is proud to spend her days playing a role in helping them live healthy lives.
