Erin Brown, Veterinary Assistant

Erin Brown began working for Seaside in November 2023, starting in a casual part time role which led to full time and we couldn't be more thrilled!

She was born in Saint John and raised in Quispamsis, so she is loving the opportunity to help the pets of “her city.” Growing up as an animal lover, everyone assumed Erin would become a vet. She surprised them all by studying Biology and Zoo Animal Technology and becoming a zookeeper. After studying in the United States, she moved to Memphis, Tennessee, and worked at the zoo there for 12 years. Erin had the privilege to work with a wide variety of animals including big cats, hippos, antelope, and monkeys, but her specialty was in birds. For eight years, Erin got to be the primary caregiver to a crazy group of African Penguins. When people ask her what they were like, she'll humorously ask if they’ve seen the movie Madagascar and say they were like those penguins! An example closer to home is saying they are like mischievous house cats. Erin is very familiar with this example because she owns two beautiful cats of her own, Lia, a cream tabby, and Tiy, solid black.

We love having Erin and her extensive animal knowledge - both exotic and domestic - on our team and seeing her apply her skills to serve our clients and patients and offer the best care she can.
